SEVENTH DAY

4 attenders:

Elias;
Eliete;
João Calvino;

Lidiane;

ACTIONS: We opened and closed with a word of prayer. The opening was by Lidiane and the closing by Elias. We read the text 'Summary of the Books of the Bible' till the fifth book – Deuteronomy, from http://www.holybible.com/resources/KJV_DFND/summary.htm.

HIGHLIGHTS: We have planned to talk a bit about the first video we showed last class and start the second, but unfortunately we forgot an essential RCA to P2 cable to make the connections between the laptop and the sound system. The infraestructure of the room is something that we will have to solve. The idea is to have everything we need in the room so we haven't to bring and take back home anything that we need. Maybe we wil have to present to the Counsel of our church (the Elders) a plan for this special class. I say special, because no other class has these features and they never presented a plan like this. We are trying to do everything wasting the minimun amount of money possible. During some previous classes we had a doubt about the use of SHALL. Of course this is a class to study the Bible, but since the students are all Brazilians some English doubts will always happen, so we sorted out this doubt and promised the students to send them an e-mail with some links for them to confirm for themselves. Some new words received special attention as APTLY and ATONEMENT. These were also words that we promised to send to the students by e-mail a proper definition.

HOMEWORK:

1) invite people from outside church to come (still valid);
2) search for names and their meanings in the Bible (open time exercise);
3) search for famous passages in the Bible
(open time exercise);
4) study the various versions of John 3:16, choose one of them as the best in their perspective and discuss the others next class (done);
5) have a look at the websites www.answersingenesis.org and teologiaselecionada.blogspot.com/, because these sites bring many concepts on what we discussed in the class relating to creationism (still valid);
6) To watch the video ‘Is Genesis Relevant for Today - Part 1’ during the week to be discussed in the next class
